Guiding Beacons of Massachusetts
We all deserve a break once in a while, a great way to enjoy said break is to take a trip, enjoy spectacular locations and great views. History buffs would enjoy old buildings and structures which hold endless fascination; why do they exist? What adventures were had? Who lived here? Lighthouses are one such attraction, if you are lucky you will enjoy panoramic views from inside the lighthouse and learn of their historical significance.

Massachusetts is a well-known lighthouse destination with a number to choose from. One such scenic attraction is the Eastern Point Lighthouse in Gloucester having been around for about 190 years! Though the main site is closed to the public you can still enjoy the excellent views of the lighthouse while walking on the breakwater. A bonus is seeing see the distinctive Mother Ann rock formation.

Commemorate your trip by stopping by one of the numerous gift shops in the area for some lighthouse collectibles and other memorabilia. Lots of photos are also great keepsakes.
